Labor Day weekend is typically thought of as the end of summer. One last weekend for a BBQ and good times with friends and family. Well Key West is creating its own Labor Day weekend tradition down south.
The Key West Brewfest is entering its third year of operations and this year it is more than just a beer fest. Starting today events will take place all over the island to celebrate all that is craft beer. Beer dinners, tap takeovers, beer & cheese pairings and much more. We here at Due South are looking forward to our first time attending the festivities and will be taking part in the fun.
Friday night we will be over at Krawl Off Duval for a Drink Like a Local tap takeover that can only be described as epic. We will be joined by our friends at Cigar City, Tequesta, Swamp Head and many others as every handle will have Florida beer on it. The night gets going at 9pm and will certainly be one not to miss.
Then on Saturday is the brewfest itself at 4 pm at the Southernmost Beach, right next to the Southernmost Beach Cafe. Tickets are still available online for $30 or you can get in at the gate for $40, if they are still available. We of course will be there pouring and hope to see some smiling faces with cups full of beer.
So if you are at either event be sure to say “hi” to Mike and Jodi. Otherwise have fun and be safe!
