Crockpot Pot Roast with Beer

Super Easy & Savory Crockpot Beer Roast – Dark Beer

Ingredients

  • 2 pound roast (sirloin tip roast is suggested – trim any excess fat)
  • 1 packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix (unprepared)
  • 1 can of Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom Soup (unprepared)
  • 2 tblsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 bottle (12 oz) of dark colored beer (the Due South Southbound Brown is EXCELLENT)
  • Assorted Vegtables (can be fresh or 1 can of carrots and 1 can of sliced potatoes and 1 onion work great)

Cut up vegetables (onions, celery, carrots and potatoes-raw:add at the beginning; canned: add for last 2 hours)

Put the soup, milk, Onion Soup Mix, Worcestershire and half the beer in the crockpot. Stir to get rid of some of the lumps from the soup. Add the meat and pour in the rest of the beer. For the vegtables, add fresh ones at the beginning. For canned vegtables, save until the last 2 hours. Cook on low 9 to 10 hours. Cook on high 6 to 7 hours.

To serve, remove the roast and pull apart on a platter. Can be put atop a bed of rice. Add the vegtables to the plate and top with some of the liquid from the crockpot. Salt & pepper to taste.

 

Super Easy Italian Seasoned Crockpot Beer Roast – Light Beer

Ingredients

  • 2-3 pound roast (sirloin tip roast is suggested – trim any excess fat)
  • 1 package of Good Seasons Garlic Dressing (unprepared)
  • 1 package of Italian Dressing (unprepared)
  • 1 1/2 bottles (18 oz) of light colored beer (a pale ale or wheat beer)
  • Assorted Vegtables (can be fresh or 1 can of carrots and 1 can of sliced potatoes and 1 onion work great)

Cut up vegetables (onions, celery, carrots and potatoes-raw:add at the beginning; canned: add for last 2 hours)

Pour one envelope of the salad dressing in the bottom of the crockpot. Place the roast on top. Pour the other package of salad dressing over the meat. Add your fresh vegetables. If canned, save until the last 2 hours. Pour the beer over the top. Add water so that your crockpot is about 1/2 full with liquid. Cook on low 10 to 11 hours. Cook on high 7 to 8 hours.

To serve, remove the roast and pull apart on a platter. Surround roast with a ring of vegtables. Put crockpot liquid into a gravy dish and serve on the side.
